Rapid.Space Cloud ties up with Nexedi KK, enters Japanese territory
Hyper open cloud provider Rapid.Space has reportedly joined hands with Nexedi KK for its debut in Japan. Incidentally, the company prides itself on holding over 200 points of presence worldwide, including China. With this step, the Europe-based establishment expects to render some of the benefits of its hyper open architecture to Japan.
For the unversed, Rapid.Space was created by Amarisoft and Nexedi with the intention of building an open, transparent, and reversible cloud infrastructure transcending international boundaries. The firm aims to be at the top of next-gen cloud computing infrastructure development. Rapid.Space’s hyper open architecture is built from open hardware, open source software, and open services.
The company is also reputed to be the member of the Open Compute Project, Euclidia, Gaia-X and EANGTI, and co-founder of the SimpleRAN initiative.
Through its new zone in one of most technologically advanced economies worldwide, Rapid.Space plans to offer its flagship virtual machines – “VPSBrute" (at EUR 495/month, for 64 cores and 1 TB RAM) and "VPS" (EUR 195/month for 20 cores and 256 GB RAM). Alongside, it will offer web acceleration through its global software-defined network (SDN) and content delivery network (CDN). Sources claim that Rapid.Space plans to single out Japanese clients looking for secure, reliable methods to make content available globally, or those who have high computational requirements.
Jean-Paul Smets, Chief Executive Officer, Rapid.Space, has been quoted to say that with the launch of the Japanese zone, the company prides itself on expanding its global infrastructure. Elaborating further, Smets claimed that Japan is one of the most technologically advanced and innovative economies, but it struggles with massive cloud infrastructure costs. In consequence, Rapid.Space hopes to carve out its niche with its hyper open, high-performance virtual machines and access to its global CDN and SDN, he added. Smets also said that the company will be adding more points of presence in Japan.
