IronNet and JUMP GTA tie up to secure entertainment sector from cyberattacks
The entertainment industry will be in for a surprise this week. Popular cybersecurity leader IronNet, Inc., and IT procurement services provider JUMP Global Technology Advisors (GTA) have joined hands to announce an initiative aimed at defending the entertainment sector from cyberattacks.
While most industries that nations depend on for economic stability, such as the financial sector, electric grid, and more, are natural beneficiaries of security against cyberattacks, the entertainment industry hasn’t exactly been on the radar of any company/establishment. To that end, JUMP GTA and IronNet have recognized that protecting this industry is as important as protecting the others, hence the initiative to deploy advanced threat detection and bring forth sharing of attack intelligence in real time to this industry.
Walter Thurmond III, Managing Director, JUMP, has been quoted to state that it is of utmost importance to make sure entertainment companies work amid a secure digital environment sans risk to IP or costly disruptions.
JUMP GTA and IronNet aim to work together and create a Collective Defense Community for the entertainment industry so as to enable stakeholders to share crowdsourced threat insights and anonymous, automated attack intelligence among community members and ensure a quicker response to cyberattacks. The initiative hopes to educate the entertainment sector and help them defend cyberattacks together so as to prevent harmful threats and organized cybercriminal groups.
As per reports, IronNet's Collective Defense Community will deploy an AI-based NDR (network detection and response) through its IronDefense solution. In addition, the company plans to establish an embedded expert system designed to prioritize alerts and hunt services so that it can detect unidentified cyberattack behaviors.
Maj. General (Ret.) Brett Williams, Co-founder of IronNet has been quoted to state that in the light of having advanced tools that help detect threats, it would be foolish for the entertainment industry to not seek the solutions needed instead of waiting for the next major attack to happen. He also further expressed his delight at being a part of this initiative and delivering collective defense to the entertainment sector.
