Trengo comes up with USD 36 million financing through Series A
Dutch omnichannel communications platform, Trengo, has reportedly made it to the headlines for having raised USD 36 million in a Series A funding round. A private equity company based out of New York and venture capital firms Peak and Insight Partners led the Series A for Trengo.
The amount raised is targeted toward expanding the company’s operations beyond international borders. Additionally, the firm plans to use the funds to expand its talent pool and fuel further development.
Patrick Meutzner, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Trengo, has been quoted to state that the company aims to disrupt the business communications platform market. With this funding from the Series A round, Trengo has many more capabilities to fast-track its growth and innovation to help businesses, he says, adding that the Trengo platform raises the standard for team collaboration and excellent consumer service worldwide.
As per reliable sources, last year, the technology-driven omnichannel communications platform multiplied its customer base to three times the original – from 700 to 2,000 customers, with the inclusion of some major customers such as Pon Porsche Dealergroep, OPPO, Yobbers, and Europcar. It has also managed to process over 12.5 million messages on a monthly basis for more than 20,000 users. Within a year, Trengo’s workforce has grown from 12 to 60 employees – a number that is projected to grow to 200 by 2022. Trengo also plans to set up new office space in Utrecht to further fast-track its growth this year.
Speaking on the financing, Whitney Bouck, COO, Dropbox/Hellosign, and Advisor, Insight Partners, said that with its intuitive design and collaborative interface, Trengo is a force to reckon with. Insight Partners sees great potential in the company and looks forward to enhancing this partnership, Bouck added.
Echoing similar sentiments, Stefan Bary, Managing Partner, Peak, said that since their initial investment in the company in February 2020, it has expanded at an admirable rate, increasing its workforce as well as revenue growth. Bary also added that Peak is thrilled to be supporting Trengo’s growth trajectory.
Congratulating Trengo on the achievement, Prince Constantijn van Oranje, Special Envoy, Techleap, has been quoted to state that Trengo’s ability to raise USD 36 million depicts the firm’s ambition to emerge as a sophisticated player in the global platform communication space.
